I went through something very similar as a teenager and it was my uncle by marriage. I was just the victim. I told my mom and she did what was right. Maybe just letting your mentor tell your mother will help. Tell your mentor your fears about your mom not being well enough to do anything. Maybe she has the right advice. What I have learned is if you are honest, there is always a way to deal with something. Holding it back doesn't make you strong. Doing something about it to protect other people including yourself from a repeat offense makes you strong.
