Re: Which hurts more: a wasp sting or brown recluse spider bite?

I am prior military police...(long story don't ask) and when I was at Basic Training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO we had a few instances of people with brown recluse bites...one guy actually had a hole about the size of half-dollar in his back...you could see all the way to his spine...there was yellow pus and white fat in there too...and the bad thing is it could have been prevented, but the fact is that brown recluse bites don't hurt that bad because there is a slight neurotoxin in the venom to bind to pain receptors...so you don't feel pain of the poison...so I would say that a brown recluse hurts more in the long run, but short term the wasp sting

Scrumptious Shrimp Scampi

2 pounds large uncooked shrimp, shelled and deveined
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon salt
6 cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
lemon wedges
(If you want to add Bay Scallops, it adds substance to the meal)

PREPARATION:

Leave shell on tail section, if desired. Preheat oven to 400°. Melt butter in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan in oven. To the melted butter, add the salt, crushed garlic, and 1 tablespoon of the chopped parsley.

Stir well. Arrange shrimp scampi in baking pan in a single layer. Bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Turn shrimp; sprinkle with lemon zest, lemon juice, and the rest of the parsley. Bake shrimp scampi for 8 to 10 minutes, or until just done. Arrange shrimp scampi on hot serving platter; pour garlic butter from pan over the shrimp and garnish with several lemon wedges.
Re: Is it possible to kill the Devil?

pride...that's laughable...but perhaps you are indeed right...I never thought about it like that before...but the question arises in the point of free will...is it truly free will or merely an illusion? God is omnipotent correct?...he is not affected by the finite flow of time...(well in our minds time is infinite...but for the sake of argument let us assume time is finite)...thus he can see all there has been and all that will in logical conclusion correct? If this is correct, then free will is an illusion, because He knows what you are going to do before you do it, so all you are doing on your end is just being in the right place at the right time...you can say that you can "choose" not to do what He says and not follow and go and do what you want...but then again He already knew that you were going to do that...so what choice do you have as a mortal?

Re: Is it possible to kill the Devil?

you all have made great arguments in the favor of the impossibilty of killing the Lightbringer "that's what Lucifer means in latin"...I think the more important fact to look at is the story of Lucifer himself...he was a) an angel b)created by God to serve and worship for eternity c) able to have free will since he rebeled...but have you ever thought about what life would be like in terms of ethics if Satan, Lucifer, the Evil One...etc did not exist? OR rather had not rebelled? It leads one to wonder if God had simply created Lucifer to sin...because what would it be to do good if there were no alternative? It would make the basis of Christianity null and void...the ideals of Jesus Christ would not make sense because the moral system would have no basis of right or wrong...

Re: Are Mormons Christians?

well when you ask people if they believe a certain way, historical views don't usually get taken into account...and as to the fact of whether or not they are Christians, the U.S. Government recognizes them as an established religion and for the most part the Mormons have done alot of good in the world (we are going to exclude that little bout with the government about taxes, paligamy, and schooling of children)...carrying on to the matter at hand, the Book of Mormon does state that Jesus Christ is the Saviour...more or less...and aliasajent, surely by the trying of your faith makes your belief in your "religion" stronger?...

it's ok...I'm trying to type in between sneezes...I'm caught a touch of the flu...and it sucks to be in the top 1%...just so you know...everyone is expecting me to either make the pulitzer or nobel prize before i turn 21...and I'm only 18...that's alot of pressure...plus my parents are dictatorian style parents who completely run my life...yes I've tried becoming devoid of them by legal means, but the courts think they know better than I do so I remain in their household...but as to crackarockencherro...an IQ of 141 is impressive...mensa level for sure...I think the last time I checked, it was 132 to get in...but I'm not 100% positive...

Re: How do I download Limewire?

majentagirl, have you ever tried hitting the "I might use this software for software infringement" icon?...it says that in the interest of P2P and something to effect of it's against the law to commit copyright infringement...why do they even ask you that? in Basic Limewire if you try to download something that has been copyrighted, it will say "this may have been copyrighted" do you still want to download? like they care...I don't use Limewire because it will slow your computer down eventually and because it's a hacker's paradise of getting your IP address and getting into your computer...but that's just me, maybe I'm wrong

Re: Why is my lymph node swollen even after antibiotics?

when you get sick., your body has systems to defend against infections...one of these systems is the lymphatic system...put into lamens terms, to protect against infection, these lymph nodes absorb these infection material...you have swollen lymph nodes because your body is reacting to an infection of some sort...don't worry, give it a few days and drink plenty of water and juices to help build up the T-cells and and white bloods cells...the swelling should go down and you should go back to feelng like your normal self...
