Hi, I live just south of Colo. Spgs. with my wife Roo. We have a two year old Rottie- Bosco- who pretends to be tuff, but really is just a big baby. I have had a childrens book published that almost no one knows about. Its called "Meadow Friends". I have had to same job for 26 years. Something you dont often see in construction. I like to be outside though,so the trade off is worth it to me.

Re: Do you think the world will end and how?

People have been predicting the end of the world for a long, long time. I choose not to listen to those people. It is also said that the end will come as a "thief in the night."No one really knows the answer to that. Just professing to be a christian does not mean that you are one of the chosen. I know a lot of people whose daily actions deny that. Be the best person that you can possibly be. But don't forget to enjoy life. we weren't put here to suffer. We do that to ourselves. Keep the Faith.

Re: Am I an alcoholic?

Hi, First, let me tell you that I am an alcholic. I now have 26 years. clean and sober.Only you, can say if you really are an alcholic. One good way to make that decision, is to go to a few A.A. meetings. Look in the phone book, call the area service office, and they will tell you where a meeting is. A.A. is not a cult or anything like that. It is a way to help you live life without using mind altering chemicals. You will meet all types and ages of people. From early teens to old folks.
Give it a shot. Don't just say, Yeah, Right. You may be pleasantly suprised. Has worked for me for 26 years. , one day at a time. Good luck.

Re: Is a Rottweiler a good first dog?

I would not suggest a Rottie for a first dog either. If you do decied to get one, the most important thing to do, is to get into a good obedience class right away. Do not wait until the dog is "old enough". Any type of dog for that matter. Yes, Rotties are prone to have problems. Getting one from a reputable breeder does not gaurante that it wont have problems. We found out when we had to put our little girl down at eight months old. And yes, Rotties can be very protective. So, as they already have somewhat of a bad reputation, the best thing you can do for the breed is to be a responsible owner.

Re: What's the best sugar cookie recipe?

Plain old sugar cookies suck!!!
1 C. butter
2 eggs
1 C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or almond
2 1/2 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
a touch of nutmeg

Cream butter & sugar, then add well beaten eggs. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.Roll on floured board and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350* for about 10 mins. Just slightly brn. Have fun decorating them.

From a recipe my Mom used to make when I was a kid. We made powdered sugar frosting, and would spend the whole afternoon -(Mom & kids)- decorating.

Re: What are good rock songs for my iPod?

How about a lesser known Nazareth song? " I Want To- (Do everything for you)"
Zep- "Whole lotta love"
Doctor Hook- "Cover of the rolling stone".
For those times when you want to relax or meditate, you cant go wrong with-Stephan Halpern- " Comfort Zone"

Re: Is it worth taking your dog to obedience school?

Yes Yes Yes. We have a two year old Rottie, and he is one of the best behaved dogs I have ever seen. Just make sure you check out the trainer before you put any money down. He- She, should be willing to let you sit in on a class before you make up your mind. Punishment type classes, in my opinion, are not the way to go. We saw both, and the reward system had a lot happier, and better behaved dogs. It doe's take time though. A working dog is a happy dog. If we ask them in the right way, they will do almost anything for us. I hope you give this a try. Love your dog- - - give him a job.You will not regret it.

Re: What are some good books?

"Notes to Myself" by Hugh Prather. I found this book 25 years ago, and I still go back to it to this day. Any of the other books he has written also, but "Notes" is my favorite.
