Internet jobs

I am a teen, but I think about the economy and my future.you know how when you have a job, they take medical, etc out of your paycheck?, what about internet jobs? Do they do the same as well or just give you the money? And can someone explain to me the medical system to get great care for me and my family?, does it come from my paycheck? And if it does, does it cover your medical expenses, so if something happened to anyone on that plan, they will be covered?

How Do I Write A Memoir?

For so long, I had been wanting to write to write my memoir. For a start, I wanted to write a book on my high school experiences so far, (I'm a Sophomore though). I believe the first two years have been the toughest and I strive to share my story. I plan to get into as much detail as I can, but sometimes, it's rather much difficult to look back and try to remember everything that happened at the time. They say that in the later years of high school, it gets so much better, so I would really like to share my story of the first two years of high school? In your own personal opinion, do you believe anyone would want to read a book on a teenager and her first two years of high school? Should I wait 'till I'm out of high school? I know I have the rest of my life to write a book, but I am so anxious to write one.

Should I take up the job while I have the offer?

I have got a job offer, I am not experienced as have not worked before and we do have financial problems. Employer may consider me having part time , if I agree to a low pay than the actula scale. For me getting experience is the priority.
My problem is I have a two year old daughter. My husband can stay at home after two in the afternoon. He is not saying either yes or no to looking after my daughter if I say yes to the employer. I so ant to do the job as money is really tight but don't know if I should take up the offer or let it pass and wait till my daughter grows up. I am already 37 and jobs are hard to come by as it is for non - experienced people like me. what should I do?

Temp agencies, need to be outlawed?

I feel like these temp agencies and work sources are a plauge in this country. Its good that you can just show up and they'll find you a job somwhere, but some take it to far. The company I work for pay's about 22 dollars an hour for me to work, I only get half of that, the rest goes to the company that contracted me out. And this is happening all over the country. Instead of employers paying their employee's a better wage and better benefits, they give it to contract companies or work sources. And the rich get richer just by sitting back and doin nothing. Im doing the same job as the rest of the guys, exact same. But the ones who arn't contracted out make at least 5 dollars more an hour, that aint no joke, thats a lot of money. And we do the exact same job. Same as one of my buddies who started work at a sony factory through a temp agency. He was doing the same job as everyone else but only making 8 dollars an hour when they were making 16. Its complete bullsh*t, these agencies do nothing, I've been at my job 2 years and they've earned 11 dollars for every hour I worked in that time. The working man needs that money, not some stupid company making millions by screwing us. Millions of people are being shafted, if the company I work for pay's out 22 dollars an hour for me, why is it half that goes to a company based in philedolphia when I live in new york. And I've only met people from there once. These companies are a plauge to the american people, making the rich richer, and the poor poorer. I think they should be outlawed, you? It would be a major step in the right direction. give the money back to the american people, we need it, not big industries. especially now with this economic strain.

Publisher or Editor, which is better?

I’m in high school right now, and I’ve been wondering which career is better. Publishing along with being an editor seems like the two jobs I really have an eye on. So I was just contemplating on what profession would suit someone well, who really enjoys literature.

(P.S Thank you for commenting, your thoughts really help =D)

Graffiti Artists

So in computer class we have to do this "Create your own Product"project that we're doing. And I came up with this idea that I could create this Park (like a skate park has) thats for graffiti artists. im still working on it but my feance is a graffiti artists and he is helping me make a better "park", I guess you can call it that. Im still working on the "park" so if you have any ideas or input I would like it a lot. I hope to make this "park" actually happen. I will keep this updated when I get more organized.

Sorry to be in such a rush to write but im in school.

Has your parents' professions influenced yours?

Just curious, does the professions your parents are in influence what you do (or what you want to do when you grow up)?

Are there similarities?

Me, personally, yes. My Mom is a social worker who works with children who have developmental delays, mostly autism and Down's. I spent my childhood befriending her "kids" while she did afterschool programs with them. I spent most of high school tutoring kids with learning disabilities, and now work in the nonprofit industry, when I'm not working on FunAdvice :)

My Dad is a scholar and entrepeneuer who has started his own successful business. Not sure I want to go in the business route, but scholar, for sure. I plan on getting my PhD asap!

What about you guys? Has your parents' professions influenced you at all?

Stimilus package

I am 23 years old, I do not live with my parents. However my dad claimed me on his tax returns.
Even though I made more than he did in the year.
Because I am over 17, he does not receive the $300 for me, and since I was claimed I technically do not receive the $600 either.
This is what I thought.

However, an accountant at my dad's work claims that I should receive it.
Does anyone know which answer is right. Please let me know.

Cost of real estate versus your salary, it's gotten way expensive

Even before the run up over the past 4 years in the US, real estate compared to the average annual salary has been skyrocketing for the past thirty years. The whole notion of the "american dream" of home ownership isn't the same - without a college degree, and a middle class job with only one person working in the household, you could buy property that was 2x your annual wage in the seventies in California.

Now, even before the run up, the multiple was more like 3x, and post real estate boom, the muliple here is more like 5x your annual salary to buy a house. Given this large discrepency in income vs real estate, is it no wonder there is a widening gap between the rich & poor?

Will I be able to raise enough money?

The other day, this company called World Challenge came to my school and told us about this trip to Borneo that we could go on, and it sounds really good, except the cost is $5900, (that covers airfare, food costs and accomodation for the whole 28 days.)not including spending money, with that, the total is about $7000 per person. We have to raise all the money ourselves within 18 months. I'm old enough to get a part-time job, and my friends and I have already thought of some other fundraising ideas. Do you think I can get together that amount of money in that time?

Give a homeless guy money if he tells you he'll use it on drugs?

Here's a question for everyone, one that'll make ya think too.

Say a homeless guy comes up to you, and he clearly looks strung out. Instead of making up some lie to get your money, he is honest and straight up tells you he is probably going to use it for drugs or booze(unlike most, who will come up with some pitiful story to try and get their drug money). Would you give him any change because of his honesty?

I would in that case, if I had some change to spare, just because he was so honest.

What are memos?

I'm working on my homework and I had to read and answer some questions. I did that but I don't understand one of the answers I had to give from the reading. The question was "What kinds of texts will you read on the job?" and one of the answers was "memos". Anybody know what memos are when it comes to jobs? The reading didn't say what they were, just that they are one of the text types.
Its not really something I HAVE to know, but I'm curious and like to understand my answers.

Am I a Felon?

I was convicetd in a military court in 2003 of a crime that requires me to register as a sex offender. Because of that, I have a hard time getting and keeping jobs. I am currently suspended without pay, till I can prove I am not a convicted felon, and prove that I have not been convicted of a felony.
I have talked to the Office of Military Justice, and the military does not consider me a felon. I even have a voter card for Michigan(state of res.). But the big bosses for my company want me to prove that the state does not consider me a felon and that the charges are not felonies. I need help with this, so if there is anyone who can get me info on this so I can go back to work, please share!!
