What is the most frightening sound?

-Little children whispering
-Doors creaking
-The sound of a car crash
-Silence
-Country Music (lol)
-Someone screaming

so true... nothing is worse than this...life is so fragile Thanks mandyloo...I wouls also say...the silence when you are alone in the house after you heard a strange noise
the silence from the doctor after you ask if anything can be done
the silence from your partner when you ask if he /she still loves you

Silence, there's always a reason for silence.

-The sound when 2 or more people are quarrelling

I also agree silence can be frightening. The silence of being alone in a strange place, guns going off, children screaming, cars reving up their engines, creaky doors opening and shutting, people breaking in, and, falling from high places.
I also would feel the silence of a partner wondering if he loves me or not. Now, that's pretty frightening.
