It is very difficult to help people that are committed to an anorexic or bulimic lifestyle.
It is not about losing weight, it is the manifestation of deeper rooted issues. A person cannot be forced to stop their behaviour, they will only stop when they are ready to stop or when they have been supported to address the issues behind this.
These people are not generally looking for advice on how to stop. 99% of the time they are looking for ana or mia buddies that will encourage them to continue.
You only need to search the old posts on these subjects to see the % that are asking how to 'be anorexic' or similar in comparison to those requesting genuine advice on how to stop this.
In todays society, there is a mistaken belief between some teens that anorexia and bulimia are in some way 'cool' and something to aspire to.
Some teens are actually jealous of those that have these diseases and are desperate to follow.
It is very sad.

Because if they're deleted, then they don't get any positive advice from us on how to help 
We always try to give help before locking.
Why wouldn't we lock them? Think about it...
Anorexia and bulemia are deadly diseaeses. These questions should be deleted. But I also think that when somene posts these questions that the moderators should find out what their real identities are and try to help get these individuals help. Real help.
I think the question is asking why we lock them rather than remove them Steph. As people contact the person direct giving advice of how to continue with their behaviour.
Have a look at a few other questions bluebell has asked in the past and you will see that maybe they are speaking out of concern and first hand experience of this.
I think this is similar to the chat me and you had yesterday Steph.

when people ask certain qwestions bout stuff like how 2 b anorexic or bulimic an stuff like that why does the site lock the qwestions,, because people can just email these people an tell them how!
