What kind of anti-depressants should I use?

I have been coming in and out of depression..my aunt made me go 2 a docter and he said I should take some antidepressents, but stupidly not what kind. what kind should I take[[not that I will(I might not) take then either way]]

uhm you cant take them without a prescription... so either way you need to go ask him/her
lexapro is supposed to be good, few side effects (ofcourse I like to prove drug companies wrong and got really sick with them) but it works for most people...

uuuggg im not that stupid...I asked yall because if the docter says whats 'best' id most likely do the opisite...but if 1 of yall said sumtin...

it's not good to do the opposite of what they doctor says. he knows what will work for you and what won't. there could be health risks with certain medicines that you don't know about. go to the doctor and take what he says to take. it's for own good.
