The Bible answers both of those - in short, no peace in this world until after Armageddon and cause ? - Satan and his influence...unleashed now, but that will change.

What good is peace in a world without freedom. Would you rather the government rule your life telling you what you can and can not say. Or what you can or can not believe in. I am sorry but in a world of so many people and so many ideas you can not have both. In the name of peace they will contain you, they will control you or they will kill you. This quest for peace is spoken of in the bible, and many will flock to this peace but it will come at a terrible price and it will be very shortly lived.

In the words of Patrick Henry Give me liberty or give me death.

tseirpeht, idiotic statements like you just made is one of the reasons why we will not have world peace. Why are you equating a peaceful society with a totalitarian government? Where do you get that correlation from?

they will control you or they will kill you.

How clueless are you? Really? If they kill people, then it would no longer be peaceful.
