I always wanted to know that...I would think if the world was round...whould'nt the people fall off of it while it rotates?

It's round cause of an equal Grvaity field at the core of the planet. . . . .Besides Squares don't spin well. . . . .

The world is basically a molten ball of rock with a thin skin on it. As said above the gravitational pull of the planet pulls roughly equally on all points of the surface so it ends up as a ball.

Incidentally, a cube would spin equally well in space. How a cube would come into being would be a different question - because of the above.
