Working out--safe?

im 14 years old and im thinking of working out, is it safe? will it stop my growth? I looked up in wikipedia...and it said recent studies prove working out does not affect the growth...they said its just the kids who worked out broke their growth plate?...

im not sure, some body please help me..even tho wikpedia said it..im still having doubts

I lifted weights since I was about your age, on off, and I don't think it had any negative effect on me. However, if you are truly concerned, try talking with a doctor about it.
