Quote from the NYT: ...if the United States withdrew its forces from Baghdad’s streets this fall, the murder and mayhem would increase. - agree or disagree ?

Hard to say. Right now the US is trying to quell a civil war in Iraq. The presense of US troops tends to fuel violence in many areas so overall the level of violence could actually decrease if we left. Of course the country could break into all-out civil war if we left.

I think if we withdrew we would only make things wose on a world wide scale. We need to strengthen Iraq and help them stay strong even if it becomes another south Korea Our leaving on a set date would only make matters worse.

I think that we should re-bomb them, flatten them and never go back til it becomes a problem again. Thats what we did with Japan during Pearl Harbor, have we seen them since?
