Why do we have to pay for windows 7?

I visited window's website about windows 7 the newest version and I found out we have to pay for it. Why??

Because there stupid and need money so the dicide to charge you for something that's not worth paying.

I've been using windows 7 since its beta... im now using the RC which is free till August 2010

Its the best operating system microsoft has ever made...

I duel booted with XP for a few days with W7 beta to make sure all my programmes worked with it and they did so I am now using windows 7 only...

a lot of people will say XP is the best (stop living in the past people) but dont forget that when xp was released 9 years ago lol broadband was virtually still a myth and its like not cool anymore

As for paying for it: As soon as my copy runs out I will buy an OEM copy because its well worth the money...

because microsoft is a monopoly...if I bought a car from GM and it was a lemon, would I be chomping at the bit to buy a new from them a few yeares later...NO.

Because they have to make a living, I'm sure if you made something that was innovative you would want to sell it too.

Umm, because people ain't going to make something for nothing. Kinda the same reason why we have to pay for anything really.
