I dont know, but I have heard that once the eggs get a human scentthe mother doesn't come back.
I think she will come back. Birds are often startled, but they usually return to their nest anyway.
yes, she will.
but make sure she isn't around when you come because if she sees you again she may not come back. just dont touch the eggs!
thanks for the help guys, the eggs hatched..but a week later they were all gone! do they really learn to fly at just a week old? or did something get them?!?
Birds usually will come back - in fact some leave specifically to try to lure you away from the nest. (Killdeer, for example, are famous for running away and faking a broken wing if you approach the nest)
Some types of birds fledge (leave the nest) in a week, but most take two or more weeks, it's hard to say. If it was some species of sparrow, it's possible that it may have fledged in a week.
Also, mother birds will NOT abandon eggs or young if they are touched. Birds (aside from some vultures) have no sense of smell. If you find a baby bird on the ground, it is perfectly ok to pick up the bird, gently, and place it back in the nest.

Will the mother bird return to her nest?
the other day, I accidentally scared a mother bird from her nest in a bush. I am to afraid that checking the nest again may scare her even more. will she come back to lay on her eggs?
