Why wud yu yu make your kid not have a girl/boyfriend?

Parents!! What are reasons for not letting your daughter/son have a boy/girlfriend??

umm im not a parent but I know what my parents told me at first anyway. they said that they dident want there lil baby get hurt and to feel the heart break. but eventually they warmed up to the fact that it happens all over the world and I wass either gonna date with there permissson or with out it.

I dont have girl friend

my mom didnt reallyt say much about that we didnt even talk about that but I knoe she doesnt want me to have one becuase she thinks were gonna have sex ?? but she was ok with my brothers having a girlfriend in 6th grades and they were the one having sex ? yeah its messed up but parent are more protective over there female

I never said that they couldn't have one. Only that they were the same age, they didn't have a bad rep, and I HAD to meet them (and maybe talk with their parents), and initially I wanted the get togethers to be in my house. If they were elsewhere I wanted to know where, who else was going to be there, and what parents were going to be near by.
As they got older (high school) we trusted each other to the point where I gave them much more freedom.
BUT
every family is different. If my kids had been destructive or secretive I might have been more strict. (And I know that ALL teens are somewhat secretive, and yes, mine did get away with some things - I found out later - but all in all they learned to use their judgement.)

My mom is overprotective and wasn't really happy when I got with my ex-boyfriend. She didn't want me to get hurt [which eventually happened] but she left me have one. She said it was an experience I had to go through and because of it I now know what type of person I would want in my life.

im not a mum but id let them as long as they didnt go 2 far 2 soon.

ofcourse they are more protective over the female. cause if the little daughter gets pregnant, its too soon, and they will have a burden to put up with till you can stand on your own.

if its their son, well they could easily tell him to leave the girl, and most likely he will. its an easy escape.

sometimes paretns really do want to protect their children of heartbreak. cuase peoples heart hardens all the time from constant pain...and well the heart is never supposed to harden.
