Why are such young girls having sex and getting pregnant?

young girls out there 13 or lower is having intercourse and then they find out they are pregnant, well I dont mean to be nasty but why are they having intercourse under age?
I have a strong view on young girls like 13 being pregnant and trying to convise...

being pregnant at 13 or lower is not good as there bodies isnt ready to have a baby and im nearly 18 and I feel my body isnt ready and it isnt good for there bodies to be pregnant at a young age.
the question I ask is why do there parents let them have intercourse at a young age, and dont they see on what they are messing up like school and going to college and getting a job.
does anyone else has view likes mine and worried that the age that girls are getting pregnant?

Um, I am 13 and 6 months pregnant with a girl. I just want to say that it's like getting caught up in the moment. Once you start you cant stop. I would NEVER kill my daughter. Please do not judge us. I have made some really bad decisions but they just are going to fom who I am in the future. I cant belive that any of you over 16 havent done naughty things. Dont lie. I may be sounding rude but well what do you expect?. I am not going to let this screw up high school. I have just started grade 8 and I am GOING to be a barrister after uni. My sister has a 3 week old baby and I love her to death. Lilia(my sister) has offered to look after Addie(my daughter) when she is born, and I know a lot of nursery school teachers that have offered. The only thing I am scared of is the birth.

from the age of 13 I have wanted to have a baby but I have waited and I think its the best I ever I did as I finshed school and im not in college and getting what I need to become a nanny in london, so I would never judge any young girl that is pregnant as sometimes its ment to be, but before you get pregnant just think on what life your will be like after a baby as babies are hard and they cost a lot too .

Most girls have sex without their parents knowing about it and most parentse don't care if their daughters have sex. Teenage sex is very common in America and is generally accepted. People who don't have sex in High School in America are looked upon as unpopular and nerdy.

I guess most girls are easily influenced I am really against young people having sex and making babies. When I was that age I didn't want to have sex,because I was scared I mean terrified of getting pregnant .I guess no one is teaching them about love and sex. Some people don't have good parents. I even think ages 17,18,19, 20 are too young to be making babies. I know a girl that had a baby at age 17 and her mother takes care of that baby. And meanwhile the girl is getting ready to have another one, when all she cares about is hanging out with her friends. She does notlike to take care of her own babies nad with me I feel if you are going to be making babies at least take care of them.

So, there's a certain age in which you're allowed to have sex?? What do you mean by underage? If someone wants to take that step make that decision then let them, you live you learn right? I had my child at 17 well unlike most people like to portray teenage pregancy, it didn't screw up high school, I'll be attending college in 2 months, definately didn't screw up getting a good job. So it's not the same in all cases. Also as far as why are their parents letting them have intercourse -- Do you HONESTLY think that their parents know? Mine sure as hell didn't. It's not like a 13 year old girl is going to say Hey Mom, I'm going to go have sex as we grow up it's going to continue to get worse worse, the cycle of teenage pregnancies is NEVER going to end.

Most kids are taught about birth control in sex ed in school, BUT when it comes time to actually do it with their partner some are too scared to ask about wether they have protection or not and also embarest about buying it. Parents should be talking more openly about it to their kids and yes should provide some condoms at least if they know their child is going to be sexually active.

lack of guidance, parental attention, education, and self esteem.

I think there are so many teen pregnancies because lack of parental supervision and parents should be talking to their kids about these things!! my mom was very open with me about it and always told me to use protection if I'm having sex. I have a boyfriend now, we have been together for almost 4 years ... yes we have sex but we always use protection. NO I don't think it's dumb to have sex (with the right person and with protection!!)... its dumb to have sex without protection (which leads to gettin pregnant !!! Like they didn't know that?) and a lot of mothers these days don't even know who the father of their baby is. SAD!! Most (NOT ALL) but most teen mothers I know end up letting their parents handle most of the mother responsibilities... it's truly sad but this is the world we are living in. Someone needs to do something!

I just want to say this is a very good and important type that you guys are talking about on Fun advice, but like a lot of you guys said this is a conversation that said have been started at home with these kids parents. It takes a village to raise a child. So we need to do our part with these kids. AND ANOTHER THING I'M GET SO TRIED OF THIS 12,-18 YR OLDS SAYING THEIR NOT KIDS WHO PUT THAT IN THEIR HEAD THAT THEY WAS ADULTS.

im not judging you at all , im saying that at you should go through school and college and have a good life to back you up to have a baby thats all, I wouldnt judge anyone as I got a friend who was pregnant at 11 and she couldnt cope with the baby and she put her daughter in to care which I think my mate regreats but still glad she gave her daughter the best
im glad you didnt go through the abortion road as I can mess people up as they remember when there son for example would of been1 and 2 and when he would of been born.
I would be scared about giving birth too I dont blame you for being scared.

my friend in this time and age girls have turned into young sluts not all on purpuse if you asked a girl if she was raped that could be a reason but some girl just have no problem with having sex at crazy young ages and some don't even know what it mean to be a virgin. for some reason I think its because teaching kids about sex ed children have become so nasty that me as a man I'm not sure if I even want to have any kind of relationship with my female peer
