why is it that when im cooking wherever I am and I use oven gloves/mitts its still really hot on my hands?

Sometimes they are not thick enough or you hold the item for to long. Try using a kitchen towel along with your oven mitts when taken pans in and out of the oven or doubling your oven mitts when cooking on the stove.
