Why is my friend like this?

I have this friend from 7th grade and I've been close friends with her since. She's obsessed with the MySpace website, and she meets a lot of older and younger kids from the site who go to our school. Well, here's the thing - She meets one person and then two weeks after they meet, she thinks they're like best friends. She also gives her phone number out to people who she just met out of state. I personally think that's crazy.

She has this one friend, who's a Junior and she pretty much worships this girl. She strongly looks up to her, and wants to be just like her. She dresses like her and everything. But I recall my friend talking crap about her saying, Oh I can't stand how much this girl is vain and self-centered! It's so annoying.

Also, when she meets these people over the internet from school or whatnot, she's always super-super nice, while she can be rude to be at times, and strike up an attitude.

There was also another time when we were at a town parade together, and she was hanging out with all the kids who did weed, and thinking they were like her best friends, and started to smoke with them as if she has been doing it forever. But most of all, the weed and drinking thing bothers the heck out of me. She always influenced me to do weed and drink with her. Also, get drunk and all, though I made the right choice not to do it because it's not my thing at all. She smokes twice, and thinks like it's the greatest thing. And sometimes, when I hang out with her, she goes online and shows me all of these videos on kids smoking weed and getting high, or songs about drugs or whatever.

I don't know why she's like this. It's like she's turning into a totally different person. Why is my friend like this?

Ok, well no one can really be able to explain why you friend is like this but herself.. sit down and talk to her about it.. let her know you do not appreciate the way she is acting, and she should change for the better of her.. and also. she should stop trying to be like other people because it is not cool. So I would just consider letting her know all this stuff she is doing to possibly be cool... isnt... so just talk to her.. and also. warn about the dangers of giving your personal information out online, and tell her if she doesnt stop.. you'll tell her mom.. just to scare her.. but remember it is her life.. so she can only change if she wants change for herself.. anyways, good luck. :]

maybe she has a lowself esteem and just wants to be liked by everyone. you can try and help her, by talking to her, but you cant change what shes doing.

just be her friend.
