Some info: Although do-it-yourself highlights and hair-color kits are easy and inexpensive, the results are almost always not in your best interest. Get a recommendation for a good stylist and consult with him or her (as well as your parents!) before you decide to change your hair color. There are infinite shades of "blonde," "red," "brown," or even "black." A stylist can help you pick the best one for your skin tone. Also, your current hair-color might react to certain dyes.
-the stylists are professionals
-they have better quality dyes
-the products they use will cause minimal damage, unlike boxed products
-they know what they're doing
There is actually a lot of math involved in hair dye. A professional will know what stage developer to use according to the color of your hair, condition of your hair, and color of the dye. Whereas, the box dyes come with a one-stage-fits-all developer. Also, a professional can point you in the right direction as far as after care goes. Some products work better with different brands and colors of dye.
going to the salon will always be better because they know what they're doing, but it can get a little spendy :/
ehbetch is correct. That's the main reason to go to a professional. I was a hairstylist many years ago and I would probably need to go back to school for a few months to get 'brushed up' or caught up on the latest stuff but I do know the basics.
If you don't know what you're doing, then yes, see a good hairstylist.
If you don't know what to buy or exactly what you want or should accomplish too.
There's a common misconception about hair dyes. Most people think there's a difference between the ones you get at the store and the ones that stylists use. Actually, they're basically the same. In fact, my hair school used Clairol (the same as in the store).
If your hair is falling out in strands, I would suggest not doing anything else to it right now. It could only get worse. It would be okay for you to touch up the roots normally, but is it worth loosing more hair? I suggest waiting or, yes, going to a professional. She can see your hair and give you the answer you need.
although you can sometimes get your hair died really cheap at a salon... I have died my hair like a million times, and one time a went to a salon and they meesed it up bad.so now I only do my own. and it also depends on if you want to go darker or lighter bc if your going darker its pretty easy, but if you want your hair lighter thats a little more difficult. it depends on your hair color and what color you want it.
Actually, every time I've gone to a salon, they've RUINED my hair, and charged me tons of money to do it, and every time I dye it myself, I'm very pleased with it.
Honestly, if you take the time and educate yourself about what your doing and what brands your are using... doing it yourself is much better and cheaper.
Because they know what they're doing... usually...
I think you should get it dyed at a salon.
first of all, they actually have stuff that WORKS.
I used to dye my hair at home too, but then I got this free promotion thing, and I went and highlighted it.
and it's like... still there. it's been like.. 4 or 5 months? and it's still there.
and the color's pretty good as well.

Why is it better to get your hair dyed at a salon?
...rather than a home dye??
I want to know is it worth going to a salon to get my hair dyed(just the roots)?
I feel that I should(because everyones saying its better)
But could my hair be already to dead to be saved?lol
Im just after washing my hair and so much of it came out..(in strands)
Im really worried that its going to keep on thinning and its to late to stop it.
I still want to keep it this color(black and blonde)
Would it be really damamging my hair if I got the roots done at home?
Or will I go to the salon?
Or any other option!??!
Thankin u
