As much as the Democrats might wish that, he's not. There is a constitutional amendment that states that no one can be elected for more than two terms and he has reached that limit.

u guys are retarded...his term is up...a president can only serve two term...each term is 4 years long...hes been elected twice...and that is enough especially for him...its in the constitution...there aint no loophole...hes out and hilary or obama are in...lets hope they do a better job than he did.

There's no need to call anyone retarded or dumb. Stopandsmelltheroses (do you have a shorter nickname we could refer to you by?) asked a question, and instead of saying she's stupid all you had to do was answer it and explain. Tolerance, guys...

The peculiarities of the US Political system are very hard for someone outside of America to try and get to grips with. It seems very complicated even to me...

He is not being kicked out - history will judge his performance as President - simply, his terms in office are up.

We Americans set term limits in order to keep any one President from governing too long and acquiring too much power. It's just one of the ways we try to guarantee civil liberty.

Something for us from the UK to remember is that:

The US President is the Head of State, not the Prime Minister.

Therefore he or she is more like the Queen than Gordon Brown.

That's hard to take in, as we can't imagine electing the Queen or King, but it is the way a Republic works.

I think this has run it's course, nope, he's no getting kicked out, he can't be president for more than 8 years...FDR was president for 16, and after him, we made the law you can't do it again
