Why i don't go to church is it right, what do you think?

The username says it all. Asked by the_anti_prep about 1 year ago, 14 answers.

I had been thinking about going to church then I changed my mind. the first thing that happend was I read The Da Vinci Code and learnd the church was hiding stuff from us. that much absolutly is true, the vatican admitted it, so I'm afraid that I could...

be being lied to. By the church, and no I din't entily base it on a fiction novel with some facts in it I did some research about it later. If there suposedly holy people and their keeping secrets, the reason cant be good. Knowing this I refuse to go to church and I was curious as to what other poeple though on the subject.

Don't put a lot of stock in man-made interpretations - the Bible is the only true source.

Other churches Assassin...?

The Catholic church has all the original and subsequent New Testament documents in existence - you won't find the missing truth in any other denomination.

These guys selected from the extant scriptures what would compile the Bible. There are many documents which they excluded. Reasons given were It is only historical - not inspired or It does not sit well with the rest of the Bible. However some people are of the opinion that a few of those documents contain information that the human race would find disturbing and are therefore keeping it safely locked in the Vatican vaults under armed guard.

Whether this is true or not is a matter for speculation but requests from outsiders to examine such documents have been denied !

Go figure.

I don't go to church. I used to, but then, thanks to tv and reading about religon after religon and the fact that what they said there seemed kinda wack and cult-like and people yelling and rolling around on the floor, and the fact that they always wanted money...I stopped. I don't see anything wrong with it. My mom's really religous, but she doesn't go to church anymore because they said once something like you might as well go to hell, if you don't give us money something like that. I find it corrupt and they try to put stuff into your head that's not true. And people go for the food.

How about Judaism, that has 4 books withheld from the Christian bible because they feel they are not necessary.

You put your faith wherever it feels best to you.

You shouldn't worry about what a church tells you, read the bible on your own, determine it's meaning on your own. If you have questions, ask people, several people. Develop the meaning on your own. Churches (at least baptist churches) have a tendency to make you feel guilty for being born. There are a lot of religious options out there in the world, perhaps you should consider studying and learning about several of them, before you try to choose.

Go to church and learn if you'd like, it couldn't hurt. Just because you go, doesn't automatically mean you -have- to be Christian. Learn what you can, apply what feels correct.

Good luck.

I didn't say you could... since none of them are really 'true' anyway.

But she can choose other denominations, or other religions perhaps, that might seem less secretive to her.

The church is the biggest commercial organization, the only way they can earn is by brainwashing your mind with fear guilt, heaven and hell etc. The bible says that it is easier for a camel to enter into the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. So whats the fun of working hard earning a lot of money, it is best to be a beggar if you want to reserve your seat in heaven.

There are 27 books from the christian bible that are not included in the hebrew bible...
The 27 books (new testament) aren't withheld because jews feel they aren't necessary...
They are NOT part of judaism, jesus is NOT part of judaism.

If you feel the need to be part of organized religion, do your research...
there are many, many religions. Some differ greatly, some not.
But, do your research...

You're right. The church does/has in fact hide information and lie to promote itself.

If you are able to read about early Christian history objectively, you'll see the entire religion was promoted early on by seemingly endless pious frauds. Once you learn to recognize it, you can even see different authors using the credibility of Paul's name to argue with eachother about the 'truth'.

There isn't an ounce of truth total in the New Testament, or the old for that matter.

Just by reading the bible I understood god to 'detest' politics, yet our churches are heavily involved. They believe in the trinity yet how can god be three persons? Scriptures can actually prove the trinity wrong. They say you die and go to heaven, yet in bible scriptures it states that you fall asleep and god will awaken you on judgment day. The bible also states that a paradise earth is awaiting the righteous, now I wasn't taught that at church! There are many more conflicting teachings of the church therefore by my own conclusions I do not attend church. They confess bible teachings but yet they don't teach what is really in the bible. Draw your own conclusions like I did.

the_anti_prep, Many Christians do not believe in the teachings of the RCC, Maybe you should check out some churches that are more Scripturaly based. . .

I thought the Da Vinci Code was a good STORY. . . kinda like Dances with wolvss. . . Both made up stories. . . and both historical inaccuracy at points. . . But Dances was more Accurate than Da Vinci.
And Satan would love to cripple your faith in God with a movie and a book. . . . Don't put your faith in the novels and movies of man or the conspiracy theorist. . .
