People hide behind religion cause they scared idiots who dont want to be open-minded to other ideas and ways of life...what ever you believe is what you believe and thats cool as long as your beliefs dont destroy the lives of others...and GEEKSTER Christianity is a religion(actually one of the most closedminded religions there istrust me my family and and almost every church in Chicago proves it all the time.)

Because religion sucks and many times condone all of these. It's a good thing Christianity isn't so much of a religion. Christianity is an interactive relationship with the living Christ.

based on other responses, bunit thinks he has it alll figured out. But lets get real. Hes a 16 year old kid. What could he possibly know about life? He's probably that guy that will sneeze and if you say God Bless You, he will have a 20 minute conversation about why he doesnt need you to acknowledge his sneeze. Like what Dane Cook says lol. I'll admit im not very religious. In fact, im more spiritual then anything. But I think its acceptable to believe in something because when it comes down to nothing, all we have are our beliefs. and no one can take that away from you.

Man is sinful - evil is deciet - you might say some easily 'use' religion as a 'cloak' or diversion - in essence, a wolf in sheeps clothing to mask their true intentions (where their heart is)...Hope this helps !!

People use religion to justify hatred, prejudice and bloodshed because they can and they get away with it.

Welcome to humanity.

People need to stop forcing religion on others.

Religion is no excuse for hatred, prejudice or bloodshed. As people above have said, those things are very human and come from the worst of our own human nature, not from any god or God.
