PS...PETA is not a group I consider credible...They are animal rightests...and zealots...they aren't all that animal friendly either (their in court down south for killing dozens of dogs they supposedly had saved...all for the camera, but not for REAL.)
Why not look into Best Friends...or ARF...

a lot of people do. you just hear about the few people who don't care.
in my area we have a humane society and we also have a homeless shelter and for the past several years (and this pisses me off) the humane society has made 13 million dollars whereas the homeless shelter has only made 4 million. im not saying its bad to donate to animals, but I think some people need to get their priorities straight.
I'd say that the majority of people care at least to some degree. Many people hide their heads in the sand, and simply don't want to know...others wonder why we care so much for animals, but not the children of the world...
The best you can do on any given day, is to give YOUR PERSONAL best to the animals...volunteer to drive a leg for a rescue organization...volunteer to help with obedience training at a shelter...if you truly care, then you won't have time to worry about what others are doing.

I think a lot of people do, we just don't hear the everyday stories.
I am talking about everyday rescues people that almost get ran over getting a hurt or ran over animal out of the street. People rescuing an animal from a drainage ditch with no concern for their life. I met a man the other day at the vets that found a frozen shitzu that he thought would never make it and he was in the vets office spending a lot of money on saving this dog.
We are not even considering all the people that donate time, money and work for Animal shelters.
I think so many people do really care very much.
People are more interested in themselves as is stated in the bible at 2nd timothy 3:1-5.If people were more concerned with doing good for the creator and his creation, then, they would understand the need to show the love that it takes to be a loving person all the time towards all.In otherwards, selfishness is what dominates the thoughts of the average human and directs their actions.
Most people care about pets such as dogs and cats. But nobody seems to care about how the meat they eat ends up on their plate. Factory farms do what they want because most people really don't care about what happens to chickens, cows, pigs, ect. There are plenty of horrific videos on the internet that show what happens to these animals, but nobody wants watch because it will spoil their dinner. That boggles my mind.
