Why do we crush?

Why do we get crushes? I don’t understand it and it frustrates me! I have been dating my boyfriend for 3 years now. I live with him and things are wonderful, but I have a crush on this handsome guy at my work. It turns out that he is my boss’s son!! The weird part about all of this is I would NEVER date him. He is not my type at all! He is always drinking and parting and talking about doing sexual stuff with random girls. I like the get down and cuddle type guys, romance is the key for me and he is NOT that type! So why in the world would I ever have a crush on him? I am not the jealous type at all but he won’t even look at me! I am not ugly (as you can see from my picture), but when I see him talking to other girls and laughing I get kind of angry and I feel ugly like why is he not talking to me??!! I don’t even care if my own b/f talks to other girls, so I don’t get why I get all weird about this guy! I don’t even know him very well! IDK… I just need someone to tell me if I am normal and I need to stop crushing on this damn guy! Does ANYONE have any advice!! Ahhh…

You should know that many people have been in your place before, though you probably already know that. You're happy with your boyfriend and have been together for three years, (which is a long time) but before you know it, you develop a crush on a guy at work. This guy you have a crush on...is just a crush. Considering what you're saying about him, this guy is not for you. He drinks and has sex with random girls. Do you really want a guy like that? Lust is the only thing that brought you to like him. His looks. You can come across the best-looking guy you've ever seen and he can have the worst personality traits. It's normal to have a crush on someone else, but it doesn't mean you're going to be with that person. The chances of you being with this guy at work is slim and least likely to happen. You've been with your boyfriend for three years. Goes to show that things are going strong. If your boyfriend is nice, truthful and honest with you, then he's the one for you.
