Not all girls do that. Be careful of stereotyping.

As for why girls might have done that to you, we can't really say. Girls are all different. They do different things and have different motives for doing those things.

Maybe they were just being friendly. Maybe they thought they liked you until they got to know you better. Maybe they liked you until someone they liked even better came along. Maybe they just like to flirt. Who knows?
