joke means just kidding if you initial it but it can also look like joke by taking the vowels out in abbreviated text. Both "just kidding" and "joke" are pretty much the same thing so it doesn't matter what you think "joke" is.
However this can confuse people as it could be J.K. as in J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter author. Or someone's name like JD is. It depends how it is put.
But if you are throwing it in a title just to find out why moderators change joke to joke then isn't that a little far fetched? No one could really care less about what it says, as long as they understand it! Although I must admit they shouldn't waste time configuring pointless words like that when they should be on the look out for bullies, offensive words or bad things. I'm an advisor, I can alter things but someone is going too far with their power.
What seems to be the problem?
on this site when you tyoe joke, they change it to "joke"
ahhh!!! I cant type J K !!!
for this very question, they changed it.
You can't type "joke" in your answer?
no I cant type j k. like jayyykayyy
u know like short for just kidding. they changed the title of my question form j k to joke.
What title were you trying to write?
I was trying to say why do they change "j k" to "joke"? and when ever I type that it changes
I mean what was the original question/answer you were trying to ask/say; the one that made you discover "j. k." gets changed to "joke"?
when ever I say j.k. to my friends but dont add the periods, it changes it to "joke". like watch...joke
"Joking" and "kidding" are pretty much synonymous; I don't think people are going to worry about it too much.
Ohhh I get it.. j k means joke, I thought it meant just kiddin... so you're saying when you type the j and the k together, the system comes along and changes it to the word "joke"... ahaa. So I guess it's to stop internet slang... thats not too bad a thing.
Smexii_loz,
It's automated; it's not an advisor.
it's automated so when people are searching for stuff, it makes it easier to find...
o well it's really annoying. it means just kidding. I keep trying to say it to my friends and its like " haha joke" instead of "haha j k". its really annoying

Why do they change "j.k" to "joke?"
Send me Fun Mail
Its kinda pointless. And annoying. Does this happen to anyone else on this site?
