Why do they act different

so I really was wondering why do guys act different when its just them talking to you online from when they are talking to you while one of their guy friends are over?

they try to act kewl and not get embarresed by der friends so they either say nothing at all or act like complete diks, but when der on msn dey are nice because der m8s aint der
