Why do people have problems with interracial relationships?

I like a guy that is african american. when we went to the movies my mom flipped out and said that she was going to tell his dad to keep his black sons hands off my white daughter. I don't get why people have problems with inter-racial relationships

Unfortunately, racism runs rampant in all parts of the world. People disapprove of interracial relationships for a couple of reasons: 1)They misinterpret the Bible, which warns against marriage to a different faith or color. 2)They've grown up that way and were never taught anything different.

There are more, but those are the two I've encountered the most. Regarding the Bible's warnings against interracial marriage: The warnings are present in the Old Testament, which mean they no longer apply to us since Jesus's death and resurrection made the Old Laws obsolete. And as for the second reason, there are still strong beliefs in some families that have existed for many generations, and this opinion so happens to be one of those. It can't be helped unless you are a very persuasive person and can prove to your mother that there really is nothing wrong with liking a boy of a different color. It's just skin.

you would have thought that racism would have gone as we are living in 2009 but unfortunately it's still there, maybe (don't get offended lol) your mum's parents brought her up to hate people from other races as a person cannot be born racist they have to learn how to become racist from their primary carers such as their parents, so your mum's perception of black people especially black men is not good, tell your mum your really like this young man and you are going out with him and theres nothing you can to do about it lol, because I have a lot of friends from other ethnic groups, so one day I was with a male friend who is white and we was playing around and I suddenly notice that I'm getting dirty looks from BLACK men and I'm black and this is in london one came up to me and said you are beautiful why don't you like black men? I was fucking shocked, anyways back to the question it's not up to your mum to dictate who you should and shouldn't go out with!
