Why do people try to dominate other people?

Why do people try to dominate other people is it in our nature or are just some people just obsesive?
What drives people to destroy anothers will to make them except ones perception of things?
Where does this come from does anyone have a thought how...

They want to feel powerful/dominant. They won't be satisfied if they weren't the ones being dominant. Sometimes it isn't by nature but to me it most probably can be an obsession. I think its their own mentality that drive these people to become what they have become. Go ask Bush, he is the living example.
