like, people freak out when people cut, but I honestly do not understand why its so horrible? its just to get out anger or pain. sure its bad if you like, cut too deep, but if you dont, why is it still bad?
Honestly, I used to cut for a long time, so I do understand that you sort of start to see it as like normal, it stops being a big deal after a while. But most people, the thought of pressing down and bleeding on purpose is just against every fiber of their being. Let me put it this way. You wouldnt go and cut someone else would you? Like your bestfriend? (if you would, well I honestly dont know how to help you here). But most people would not go and slice open their friends with a knife. Ok, you know that sort of gut thing that happens when you think about that? That complete aversion? Yeah, most people feel that about hurting themselves too. Mainly because most people value themselves as much as they value their loved ones. And if you're hurting yourself, you're not valuing yourself. You're sending a huge message to others and yourself about your own self worth and how you deserve to be treated. And THAT is a problem. Also, you know the risk of permanent damage or cutting too deep accidently (yes it happens, no you dont have to be a complete idiot or attention seeking for it to happen). Think about it. I understand why you do it. I understand that sometimes you need it to survive. I dont regret cutting. But I did realize that life could be better. And life can be better. But not when you're cutting yourself.
because your obviously physically hurting yourself yes its ONE way to get rid of pain and depressed feelings but its not the RIGHT way, and its not healthy if someone is depressed, they need to get help they need to get over themselves, get out there and ask for the help that they need because rarely will it come to them if other people dont even know there depressed you cant solve problems by cutting, cutting just causes more problems your mutilating yourself, and causing life-long ugly scars also all that horrible behavour negatively impacts your health its not healthy at all to always be hacking away at your flesh everytime something doesnt go your way and imagine how your parents feel about it if you were a mother and had a little girl, how would YOU feel thats shes cutting herself and bleeding all over your floor becuse she has problems? im sure you would want her to TALK about her problems wth you, and ask for help not mutilate herself in secrecy self harm is a horrible thing to do if you do it, ASK for the help that you need dont bottle up your feelings and hurt yourself and everyone around you life is too short to be doing stupid things like that
I think the reason people think it's so bad is because you are hurting yourself and there is other ways to get out anger and pain. Hurting yourself to get rid of pain is just like drinking to get rid of pain , once the effect wears off you will angry/in pain again. So bascally not only is it hurting you but it's also pointless when you could be doing something safer to get rid of the anger you feel.
Thats not how you deal with pain. When your hurting inside, there are other ways (healthier ways) to deal with it and overcome that if you choose too. Some suggestions are to confide in someone you trust, get teachings on it, hear testimonys that can inspire you, whatever it takes because cutting is self abuse and thats never ok to mask your problems instead of facing them.
Please don't get any sort of negative idea about what I'm about to say, but I guess its because if your willing to hurt yourself then hurting others will be even easier. This is just a guess =/ those who don't agree with this view please don't argue with me about it =(

Define Harm: Physical or psychological injury or damage.
Injury...damage... Neither one of those things is a good thing.
There are better ways to deal with anger and frustration without inflicting injury upon yourself.
I use to be a cutter and I even understand this. First of all, self-harm. Harm meaning you are hurting yourself. If you don't understand how it is bad then you are worse off then the people who cut and know the dangers.
personally, I dont see a point. making yourself bleed doesnt solve yur problems. it just creates more. hurting yurself causes more pain than the emotional pain yur already in.
