It's human nature. We've been doing it since the beginning. If we don't have a SIGNIFICANT reason to hate (tyranny, opression, etc.), then people tend to find INSIGNIFICANT reasons (race, gender, favorite football team, brand of truck, stolen pencils, etc.).
I guess the 'chaos theory' makes sense after all...
