Why do people hate emos?

There is nothing wrong with emos. I am emo. Why can't people accept me or other emos?

emos kind of creep a lot of people out because of the wrist cutting and bad stuff you should quit because no one will hang out with you and its a bad habit

I have emo friends hello pople hang out with us and in emo and I dont care what anyone says about my being a creep I am lol deel with it

because people are idiots...all kinds of people are idiots though...people just need another word to insualt someone with.it makes them feel bigger and better...just like kids did back in school. and people dont really change. but you cant pleaseeverybody, know one can. theyll always be people who dont like it

They hate the way kids tday have to act like a cerain label in order to be noticed.

It there indifference, people will hate anything out of the norm, but if there was a norm, the world would be pretty robotic.

I think past the age of 16 or 17 nobody cares anymore, I mean once you got a job and bills to pay do you really think its important being a skater or a goth or an emo...no way. I was never important to me, though so I dont really understand, why its even am issue.

A. I never said I hate emo kids. The question was why do some people hate them--I answered. It is popular for kids to hate emo kids. It's just the thing to do. I didn't say I hate them. You should read things more carefully.

B. You're not different from everyone else because of your clothing or music or habits. You're just not. If you want to be unique, be true to yourself, not emo trends. And yes--it IS a trend.

C. I never said anything about cutting, but I will now. No matter what you and your friends think, it is a dangerous and destructive habit. You cannot tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about, because I do. For years I cut myself, but I grew up a bit, and learned that injuring yourself is not a good way to deal with your problems.

Because emos pick up the emo trend and then pretend everyone hates them... when honestly no one cares. It's just another annoying group of kids playing pretend at the mall.

When you get out of high school being emo or scene or whatever social label will not matter. So you better get over it now.

And cutting is NOT a trait of emo. Cutting is because of severe mental problems. ANYONE with self-harming tendencies should not be glamorized, they should be encouraged to seek professional help.

I personally dont hate emos, but when I see an emo I naturally associate it with depression, insecurity, negativity. Im just being honest. I always admire people who differentiate themselves from the rest of society with unique styles. The thing that I guess doesnt appeal to me about emo is the negativity. I work hard everyday to meet people, stay fit, learn new things, do whats rite and in general to be HAPPY. If I didnt have this goal to be happy...not emo, then I wouldnt have much in my opinion. No matter your situation you can find some positive light in it. Garaunteed anyone surfing this website has an easier life than half the worlds population who live in poverty, desease, and have nothing. Whats there to be emotional about. Im emotional, but in a positive way. Nobody likes the company of someone who is always negative and never wears a smile. Cheer the hell up and enjoy life.
