Why do people do this?

So many people pretend they're goth. They say that they hate pink, they act tough, and it sounds like whatever they say is completely fake (like they've been in a fist fight, they hate people, and they've been suspended from school).

I've seen many...

people who are actually depressed, and it's nothing like those people who just pretend to be. And they can actually say why they're depressed.

And why would they even WANT to be depressed? You can get a serious eating disorder, like binge eating disorder, and you could ACTUALLY kill yourself instead of just saying you want to.

So seriously, why, do so many teenagers pretend to be "depressed", "goth", or 'emo"? They aren't even fun things to be!

dont know! maybe they haven't found out who they really are yet

firstly you need to realise that being gothemo ect isnt about being depressed, or cutting yourself ect
I DO however think too many little kids and teens think it is about this, so say they are, say no one understands them exept people of that stereotype
and its those people who take it too far and make me beleive that it is somewhat like a cult to those people...some people do seriously need help, because they assume being that sterotype is about being depressed or self-harming ect
but its not
those things are mental and emotional disorders
disorders that those people seriously need to get help with
when it comes down to it, they have nothing to do with the lable they protray themselves as...
but kids will ALWAYS lable themsleves...think of how many kids say there scene right now...and how mayyny of them want to be skater girls or preps
...a lot of these kids have no ide what the lable actually means
its all just assumtions
and then following the diumb crowd that also makes stupid assumptions

That fad ended a long time ago actually, so if they are STILL doing that they need to get over it.
