Why do people comment on others advice/answers?

Why do people comment on others advice/answers? To me it is very frustrating! I give advice based on personal experiences, just because someone doesn't agree with it doesn't mean they have the right to comment on it. I would perfer, if someone doesn't like anothers advice/answer then RATE IT!!!

It's an open forum... people have the right to disagree... constructive debate can be useful to learn different points of view...

Because some people don't agree with what others said so they feel the need to correct it. I think it's helpful to get different opinions but your right, it gets annoying when people arn't helping, theyre just saying 'thats stupid', that's completely useless.

That is what I ment imyselfandme! It is fine to debate things but when someone says ' man such and such that isn't right or that is stupid or you don't know what you are talking about ' That sort of thing pis*es me off!!!

They say, time heals everything, but I'm still waiting </3 Answered by stephanief987 on Jul 03, 2008, 12:31PM

I only deleted it because you weren't asking anything, just ranting on. This one can be kept up though. The only time I comment on something else's answer is if they are providing false information, because if something incorrect is being said than the user asking the question needs to know that. Other times I'm like 'I agree with (user)' which is okay too. Its not always about disagreeing or agreeing, most of the time its comparing fiction and fact. People need to watch what they are saying and if they provide false information than obviously users are going to speak up about it. Some people just feel the need to comment on everyones advice because they think they are always right, which is always annoying. Those types of people will always be around though and the site cant really do much about that unless the user is harassing you in which you need to report it to an admin or advisor.

It's something that helps make the site great, in my opinion. It's one of the best things about FunAdvice. People have a free forum to give advice and talk to each other. There's room to debate respectfully, or agree. It's something we encourage on the site.

I feel the same way too sometimes, I guess everyone has their diffrent oppinions and prespectives, so it dosen't bother me much... but I agree with people just rating it, rather that talking trash about your advice!
