Why do people always treat me this way?

I am always put down about the way that I look. people are always comparing me and my sister. shes prettier, younger and more inteligant. but the way people talk it's as if im faded out, invisible even. I never thought I was ugly, but I get treated...

like I am. I feel really depressed over it. my ex was never good looking, and he told me he always thought he could do way, way better than me and how he thought my sister was beautiful and im nothing more than average. im not the type of girl to walk around caked up in make up, maybe on a night out, I find I get a lot of male attention, but when I am natural no one notices me. why do men always prefer the girls who look tarty? all is wish was that I was more naturally pretty and then maybe people would not treat me like this. my grandma always says to my sister how nice she looks, right infront of me, and then says nothing to me, even if I have made a big effort. I just dont get why we are always judged by our looks... but at the end of the day if you are not pretty enough boys will never like you and maybe thats why my ex cheated on me so many times =(
