Why do parents think myspace is dangerous?

I am a 13 year old girl, and I had a myspace but last week when I was logged in my dad saw me in myspace and he waited for me to go to account settings and to delete my account, now my question is that. Why do parents think myspace is bad for us?

I know how you feel
I got caught with a myspace and was grounded forever
my mom says its because of sexual predators
but I have been trying to explain to her that you can block anyone you dont know and make your profile private but she doesnt listen
it is only dangerous if your careless

My guess is that your dad is trying to shield you from the malignant people in this world.

because the internet, no matter how wonderful the site may be. will always be filled with people who want to hurt others. I'm not saying they want to hurt you, but you never know. your dad wants to protect you, it's natural.

no matter what your on, if you give out you details or post pictures of yourself
its dangerouse
your uploading that info and those pics for millions of other people to see and read all over the world
and its veery easy for people to find out were you are, get other more personal details, for them to copy your pics and info to other sites, find out were you live ect
theres always going to be that danger...especially on a social network site
and your parents are worryied because they dont want everyone looking at your details and pictures
also at 13, you dont really need a myspace
youll probably talk to your ferinds when you see them at school or on your phone if you have one
because the internet is a dangerouse place for little kids and teenagers
because there are a lot of sick people out there who love looking at young kids
...its even a dangerouse place for adaults
the only difference is that most adaults know by now that they shouldnt give out too many private details or post things like there phone number or bank acount details, ect
