Why do I look fatter on camera?

I dont get it. I already hate how I look. Why do I look fatter then on the camera? Also why do I also sound different on camera? My friend says I sound the same as in real life, but I think I sound really different.

Everyone (including you) hears your voice through the air. You, however, also hear those same vibrations through the bones of your skull which imprints a memory of how you sound. When you hear a recording of your voice you only hear the "through the air" part, so it doesn't match that imprinted memory.
Don't know about the looking fatter part.
