How can I get him to focus more on me than his disapproving dad?

I have been dating a guy for 5 months now and his dad doesn't approve of us dating and when we're together he's always nervous. How do I stop him from concentrating on his dad and paying more attention to me??

Well he is right for watching out and not getting in trouble with his dad, maybe you should just not goto his house and have him come to you... but to me it sounds like you are sound a bit selfish about it... but maybe I just took it wrong

Its very hard when a parent doesnt approve, and its important to him becos its his dad, he needs to respect his dad at the same time and not hurting you, its hard to play piggy in the middle trust me so cut him some slack. What you need to do is just be polite and sweet and in time when his dad realises how happy you make his son he will drop his protective guard and come to trust you, but you just need to give him time.
