Why can't people be nice?

In this world why can't people be nice to each other.I mean we are all on this planet together an if we could all be nice to each other. there would be less wars and stuff we would all be happy because its only other people in the end that make us...

unhappy.
Can someone tell me why we are mean to each other???

I guess its just human nature to dislike other people, it really can't be helped. I guess without hate we couldn't have love?

Because many people are a me,me, me type. This makes for an interesting living. You can't drive without people being bothered by your slow driving, waiting for pedestrians, making them wait behind you while the red light is on and they have to turn at the next street. No one is curteous anymore. It's all about each for his own self. Very selfish. I teach my kids to share and I try to be kind. Maybe enough of this will change other people.

You're asking why people can't be nice... yet you have a kill Hannah avatar? Doesn't that seem a little contradictory?

Anyway- often you find people can't be nice because they can't tolerate others. If someone is a little bit different, they are often persecuted, or labeled as a freak. In order to get along, I think the world needs to celebrate diversity and accept people for who they are.

Thanatos, the death instinct. Freud coined this term, referring to man's need for conflict and lust for destruction. It is in our nature to be uncomfortable with long term tranquility and peace.

Just think...if you feel sad because someone was mean to you, then you must have felt very loved at one time in your life.

I'd shed a thousand tears, just to laugh with a friend for a few seconds.

I think its because people have their own opinion on things and they want their to be the one taken, and others just want them to shutup, and sometimes the person that wants them to shutup will let the opinionated person know!

Usually insecurity, fear or pain causes individuals to lash out, or be nasty, for no good reason. Sometimes there is a good reason. I am a nurse who works in Hospice. I am confronted with mean people every time I work a shift. I've been told (by total strangers) I'm fat and ugly, stupid, yelled at to get out of a room, you name it. After a while it takes a toll and you need to decompress (get it out)- talk to a good friend, clergy, therapist, or just post to a blog.

But, most importantly, don't stop being nice to people. It will eventually catch on and believe me I can't wait!

some people may have bad days and the affect it has on nice people it turns them mean too that is what I think!
