Why are so many people violent and racist these days?

Asked by fau about 1 year ago, 11 answers.

I don't understand it all. I know there are different situations for these actions, but why do people murder? Why do people hate? Why do people torture? Why do people judge so damn much? One thing I wish I could understand... is murder. Why do people do...

it? Are they crazy... are they hateful... or is there some other reason? Like why do people murder their own children? Not even all the time is it their own but it could be kidnapping or anything. Why do people do this kind of stuff to little harmless, defensless... children?

Tell me your thoughts please.

As with everything in life each case is situational. I think out of years of study in human behavior, I think the most significant answer to any question or concern that may be posed in regards to human behavior is that each individual speaks with their personal perception/interpretation of any given act, and acts out in a manner that benefits them in some way. One of my professors made this statement and I immediately felt my tail feathers get ruffled as I give so much of my time to the community, schools, and of course my children. He stated that all of my acts in some way make me feel good, after NOT arguing with him but thinking about why I do what I do, all of my actions do make me feel good. Hence my favorite answer to most questions next to...It is situational is self speaks of self.

Enough babbling. So... why would someone murder their own children? I have heard many explanations from parents as to why they did what they did, however non are sufficient to me as there are always other options. Yes some are crazy, some are hateful, all of which need emotional help.

Hate is from personal disdain. Self confidence/esteem allows an individual to allow others to be who they are and NOT hate them for that. When an individual is well adjusted there is no reason to be jealous of or hate anyone. There is definitely much more to each if you would like to discuss more fun mail me. happy

I don't get how throwing your kids over a bridge to drown is human nature... or shooting them... raping them... or putting your baby in a microwave. I hear this kind os crap everyday on T.V., it's sick, it's disturbing and it's just not understandable. A man murders a woman... yeah okay you murdered her, but why did you have to cut off her head? You already murdered the poor girl, why did you have to decapitate her though? Do you know what I'm saying? I'm just sick of things like this happening ALL the time.

Okay since human nature was mentioned I guess I could bring in the Evolutionary explanation for our behaviors. We are social beings and need companionship for reproduction, survival (easier to hunt with companions, etc...), as social beings we then become competitive in that we must compete for the mates, food, respect, and power as power offers all of the benefits social beings desire.

I think that in a murder case with such severe results there is a lot of anger and disfain towards the victim even if the perp does not know the victim often he/she resembles one that triggers anger height, behavior, confidence level, color hair, etc...

To add to the murder of own children, I have heard a few parents say their children were possessed, one said she feared for their eternal wellbeing, others on the news did so, so they could be with a new partner without baggage. In the first cases some connections are not sufficiently made upstairs however tot he individual these thoughts are as real as what we see in front of us. The unhappy spouse that is looking for another partner, should know that there are other options, but possibly felt like a failure at motherhood if she left her family for another man (I am thinking of specific cases, this is of the mother that drowned her children).

These are only possiblities as when discussing human bx the possiblities are endless.

Look at the animal kingdom and you'll find your answers. We are animals - the only difference is that we can understand how our actions will affect others in the future. That's how we develop our morality.

I wish I knew why too...I think people are most judgemental based on race. with the stereotypes and such. NO, not all arabic people are terrorists. NO, not all hispanics are mexicans and NO they are not all illegal. NO, all people are not uneducated and lazy. I happen to be black and I am no where near stupid. I wish I could just understand where the hate comes from...
