Hi, Kathy, I am so sorry, I haven't been here in a while and I just now saw this question. I remember when I first got sick, I got so depressed. It overwhelmed me to the point I didn't even come out of my room for weeks at a time. I finally let my family talk me into going to therapy. That was the best thing I ever did. Just talking to someone who is objective can truly help you. It took a lot of work on my end, but I finally pulled myself out of my depression and started living life again. It isn't easy when you don't feel good most of the time. And yes, even now, most days I have to force myself to get up and live life. But it can be done, if you truly want to do it. My advice is to go see a professional. I don't recommend the anti-depressants. They may work wonders for you, but they never did much for me and I hated the side effects. That is up to you and your doctor. At any rate, if you need to talk, I'm here if you think it will help to talk to someone who has been through it.

Why am I whining?
I was so very inspired by your profile. I havent had the best of health, but I certainly do not suffer from all the adversities that you have and still go on. I have had 4 stomach surgerys in the last two years and have put on weight and suffer from depression. and the more weight I put on, the more depressed I get. can you inspire me to be better and be all that I can be? not just existing but a fun grandmother who is active, not wanting to sit around all the time. I have no really close friends. I am in a cocoon.
