Why am i afraid to drive?

I'm fourteen, about to turn 15 in about 2 months, and I'm scared to get my license. I'm TERRIFIED! And sometimes when my dad asks me to go out turn on his truck to get it warm, when its cold, I wont even do that! I've seen so many pictures of horrible...

car accidents, it's not even funny. One day, me my dad were driving home from church and we were just playing around, and I kinda grabbed the wheel from him ( and I was sitting in the passenger seat ) and I felt like the steering wheel was just jerking back and forth.

woah...in NYC, united states you have to be 16 to get a permit and you cant drive unless there is someone over 18 with a license in the passengers seat...? what are the rules in your country? please specify!!!

I just went driving for the first time today. it was not as hard as it looks. have someone sit in the drivers seat. parctice in a large abandoned parking lot (if it is legal? I don't know) then go to a one lane road like a cemetary, then to a 2 lane cemetary. do lessons with someone like one lesson focus on parking and the next the turn signal, etc. also you can probably sign up for driving school the permit is just a written test at least where I come from andfter you have that you can go todrving school.

driving can be a scary thing if you dont know what your doing ,,

I have my permit and my dad is a great teacvher he tests me all the time I think this will help you a lil,,

one time we were going to the store not to far away from my house and my dad told me to drive,,, then outta no were he turns the volume in the car ALL THE WAY UP it scared me to death... and he starts screaming because its so loud and says what if you were driving people home and it was noisy and destracting like this

you shud be scared to drive if you cant drive,, you cud kill sum one or urself

other times like if im waiting for traffic to go so I can make a turn my dad said go! one time but I didnt and if I wuda listen to him or the cars behind me pressuring me to go I wud of gotten hit and died but I went by my judgement no one elses

I'm scared to drive too.
I had a few lessons over 2 years ago and I freaked out.
I didn't really want to learn to drive, but my dad wanted me to.
I'm 26yr and I can honestly say I never want to drive.
I don't know why, I just hate it.

im almost 15 also and im terrified to drive also maybe it just takes time

im about to get my license too. I was scared for the longest time, I would still drive but I was soo nervous but now im used to it and I feel ok. you will feel ok 2 in time. and dont worry about getting into a accident as long as you do what you should and are responsible nothing will happen. it is a lot easier to control the car than you think it isnt that bad at all.

lol, you lot drive automatics over there, try and drive a maunal car. It is a lot harder!

I wouldn't be afraid of driving... the more scared you are, the more likely that something is going to happen because you will be thinking too much about it. Don't sweat it...everyone learns how to drive, even the people who are scared. Car crashes and horrible accidents don't happen as often as you think!

its becaus when you first get behind the wheel you think it is scary when I was 10 I drove my neighbors tractor with him and helped him kick hay and it was so easy and my dad let me drive when I was just 12 on a back road and I was so scared caus I was little and afraid of crashin but if a 12 year old can do it so can u! plus if uve evr drove a 4 wheeler you will do great at steering and reverse and just stayin on the road but if you havnt drove 1 it is xtremely easy and you will do just fine drivin.

hey huys at what age can you get the driving license in your country cause I live in uk and I know that here you can get it at 18.
