"mccain would never be the president!"

Don't pay much attention to current events, do you? McCain leads in most national polls if pitted against either Clinton or Obama. He has a very strong chance of becoming president. And almost every political analyist in the country is thinking about who he will pick for his running mate. 'Nuff said.

To answer the original question, McCain has a tough choice. He risks alienating the conservative members of his party, so he might choose someone more conservative than himself (as Clinton chose the more liberal Gore in 1992). On the other hand, if he is facing Clinton or Obama, he may want to take someone more popular among minority voters. Some have suggested Florida governor Charlie Crist. Another excellent possibility is JC Watts, the former Oklahoma Congressman. I agree with amblessed that Sanford is a definate contender.

If you don't pay attention to what is going on in politics than a lot of people who don't follow shouldn't talk about it, that's my opinion. just how the people who DON'T vote, COMPLAIN about the outcome. it's ridiculous.

if america is predictable I'm sure you can tell us what is going to happen, right? and also tell us what is going on behind closed doors?
