Who's right, me or my friend?

Alright, so there was this girl I had been interested in asking out for awhile.

So I finally did. I had been talking to her somewhat regularly over the summer. She said no.

My friend and I were kinda arguing this morning. He said that I should've...

just gotten closer with the girl, and not have asked her out directly like I did. However, I feel like I did the right thing. I don't think he knows what he's talking about, cause he's single.

So was I right to just ask her, or should I have played silly little games where no one knows the rules like I always used to?

You were right to ask her.

It's not like you didn't try to get to know her better - you said yourself that you had been talking to her.

Getting closer to her may have put you in the friend zone, and it's even more difficult to get into a relationship from there.

I think its okay to ask her, but you probably should have gotten to know her more.
you shouldnt just ask people out because you think their attractive...theres more to a relationship then looks. And it isnt playing games if your interested in a person and ask them questions about themselves.
