Who else is a saturday night live (snl) nut?

woohoo Asked by texaskimmie about 1 year ago, 6 answers.

I've loved SNL for many years even back when I was young and Chevy Chase was on. I love seeing reruns of the first years, and have really had some faves over the years, including Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Cheri Oteri, Maya Rudolph, and...

the list could go on and on.

I've always loved the Weekend Update feature no matter who was the anchor.

Any one else love this show as much as I do? Most of my friends don't understand my passion for it.

And yes, I'm still awake, and no I don't have to work on Friday...thank goodness.

Jim Carrey...I think he was on Saturday Night Live...that guy is a very funny. There are some good clips of him on You Tube...impersonations of Clint Eastwood, etc. He is probably one of my favorite comedians in America...but I have many favorites. Robin Williams, Will Ferrell (very funny)...he reminds me of Chevy Chase for some reason

Isn't Chevy Chase banned from ever appearing on SNL again? (Due to sexual harrassment.)

I always enjoyed Norm MacDonald.

Yes, all those are great. Chevy Chase was on about a month ago doing a spot during the Weekend Update...He's all gray now, but still funny. I hadn't heard anything about a sexual harrassment issue...but you never know. happy

SNL had its ups and downs. A lot of people romanticize the orignal cast because they came up with some of the funniest skits ever but they also had a lot of skits that flopped badly. I do credit them with being very original. It is funny that I can mention the Bassomatic or something being both a furniture wax and a dessert toping and everyone will nod knowingly even though it was a 30 year old TV show.

SNL really sucked in the early 80's but other than that its been a good run.

The show really is great, although I don't like it when they make movies out of the sketches. I think Wayne's World is the only one that actually worked.

My favorite cast is the one from the early 90's, with Phil Hartman, Kevin Nealon, Chris Farley, David Spade, Adam Sandler, Tim Meadows, etc. But my favorite episode has to be the one where Peyton Manning hosted. Every single sketch he was in had me splitting my sides.
