I'm going to move houses and was wondering which would be a better color scheme for my new room - darkish-purple or a dark-ish, almost maroon red? I'm a fifteen year old girl, if for some reason or another you're wondering. I'm asking because I'm supposed to pick my new sheets tomorrow which will be in satin and the two colors I mentioned are my only choices. Thanks.
You should first consider the size of the room. If it isn't very big, then painting the walls a dark colour will make it seem smaller and closed in.
If you want to open up the space, you need to stick with light colours. You could always go with a lovely off-white or cream colour on the walls with maroon detailing, or a pale yellow with purple detailing.
If you go with dark painted walls then I would suggest that your furniture such a bed sheets and carpet be in a light scheme so It brings them out and other objects in the room
Stop by the paint section and you can compare colors next to each other - I like maroon.
