Where was jesus from age 12 to 30?

Shark Atack Asked by funadvice about 1 year ago, 11 answers.

Jesus, mary, joseph traveled from nazareth to jerusalem to attend the passover festival. Thinking he was with some fellow travelers they returned back home, but since they could not find him, went back to jerusalem, searched everywhere but could not...

find him. Three days later, they found him in the temple courtyard. He was sitting among the teachers, listening asking them questions. Mary asked him, son why have you done this to us? Your father I have been worried looking for you. Jesus answered how is that you sought me? Knew you not that I have to be about my father's business?
This happened at the age of 12. If jesus could speak in such a commanding tone how is that he disappears from the limelight for the next 18 years. I personally feel that he might have gone to india, which was a land of mystics, where people could bury themselves in the ground for months, and even do such feats as walk on water.
The present day magician solkar, can also walk on water, and since he regularly performs in europe, he would not like to heart the religious sentiments of the people, he cycles on water.

Those who go to hell are not the children of God, they are children of the devil... And that's where His enemies live..in hell.

That sentence would have been so much more dramatic and effective if you had ended it in caps. Like this: And that's where His enemies live...IN HELL!!!

Now, that will really send a few shivers down people's spines, and even more important, it will scare them right into the loving arms of God. And that's really the point, isn't it?

Because the story of Jesus Christ is based largely on the Egyptian god Horus, whose life story is also told in two segments (child to age 12, and then grown adult). The story of Horus also involves a virgin birth and adoration, followed by Horus growing up under his mother's care for 12 years. There is no more record of Horus' life until age 30. Ironically, his mother was named Meri, he was born in a cave, shepherds witnessed his birth, angels announced it, his birth was heralded by a star, a ruler tried to have him murdered, and his mother hid him to keep him safe.

At age 30, Horus was baptized by Anup, just like Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. That's when the rest of his life story picks up. He cast out demons, walked on water, healed the sick, raised people from the dead, was tempted in the desert, and also rose from hell three days after being crucified alongside two thieves and being buried in a tomb. Let me clarify: that was HORUS I just described. You already know it's also Jesus.

And just so there's no confusion, Horus was around for a long time before Jesus.

I believe that he was waiting for the right timing according to his Fathers plans. When the disciples were in the upper room, he told them to Wait for the power from on high. That meant that they were as of then, unprepared for the work that was set before them, so, they had to wait upon the Holy Spirit to empower them, before they could do what they had to do, in fullness.

When Mary asked Jesus to turn the water into wine...
his words to her were, Woman, what have I to do with thee...
My time has not yet come...

This makes it plain...

That Jesus was waiting for the Father...

He said that he did not do anything, unless he saw the Father doing it first...

Meaning that he was led of the Holy Spirit, in all that he did.

He did not just go about at random...

doing what ever he...willed..

He did the will of the Father.

And to do that, requires much waiting...

That is designed to kill the flesh...

So, that the spirit can be in charge.

OH, and by the way, Jesus was tempted by Satan...

to use his powers the wrong way...

In Matthew chapter 4.

But, he did not give in.

Neither will he today.

for the ones that tempt him to PROVE...

that he is real.

He did not then..

He will not now.

You are wasting your time and breath, in trying to force his hand.

It ain't happening..

The way to the Father, has always been thru faith.

And one has to humble himself to have faith.

Like the trust of a child.

That ... is what pleases the Father.

The rest is haughtiness and pride.

Attributes of man... that get nowhere with the Father.

Never did... never will.

Silverwings: Like the trust of a child. That ... is what pleases the Father.

Except a real father wouldn't throw his child into the fire simply because the child didn't believe something to be true. If a father were to do that, would you think that father is a loving father?

The rest is haughtiness and pride.

No, the rest is called being human. And if that isn't good enough for your father, then I say screw him.

Also, jimahl, you're right a father would not throw his child into the fire. Those who go to hell are not the children of God, they are children of the devil. (1 John 3:10 and Romans 9:8) It's not until you are saved that you are born into the family of Christ. If you are a friend of the world, then you are an enemy to God. And that's where His enemies live..in hell.

womanofvirtue, I checked out that website. The fact is, the authors have not done their research. Read The Pagan Christ by Tom Harpur as well as the work of Alvin Boyd Kuhn and you'll see all the relevant information about the Egyptian legends of Horus and the Biblical account of Jesus Christ. For example...

The article says: Horus was NOT born of a virgin at all. Indeed, one ancient Egyptian relief depicts this conception by showing his mother Isis in a falcon form, hovering over an erect phallus of a dead and prone Osiris in the Underworld (EOR, s.v. Phallus). And the Dec 25 issue is of no relevance to us--nowhere does the NT associate this date with Jesus' birth at all.

In fact, what we know about the goddess Isis-Meri is that she was considered a virgin goddess in the later period of Egyptian history, and the followers of her cult subsequently practiced abstinence. I do agree with the article that the goddess has changed forms several times throughout history, but what we're concerned with here is, was there any influence over Christianity? That Horus was born of a virgin goddess was definately a strong belief in later Egyptian religion including the time Christianity began.

The terminology used to describe Horus in Egypt is almost identical to that used to describe Jesus in the New Testament. And what's great about Harpur's book is, he gives a 128-source citation, so you can do further research on the subject.

I was also surprised to find your website used sourced mostly from the 1960s and 1930s, with not a single 21st century reference. This was not my only basis for discrediting the website, but it sure didn't help.

The website's creators clearly have some homework to do. We know a lot more about Horus and Jesus since they did their digging.

So your god is that cruel and vane, that he would cast people into hell for doing nothing wrong, other than not worshiping him? You are truly confused if you believe this is a loving god...
