Where can I get dark eyeshadow?

My complexion is a little on the darker side and I find the eyeshadow in the stores just not dark enough. Does anyone know of specialty makeup lines where they might have more dramatic colors? I tend to go for dark purple/amethyst tones

pinkpearl,
I used to have the same problem but then I learnt about this technique. You put black eyeliner on the whole top of your eyelid and smudge it and THEN apply your eyeshadow ontop and it will be dark. Works amazing for me. If you go to my pictures, theres one with my in a poka-dot shirt, and ull clearly see my eyeshadow, did it with that technique I told you. And put some different shades in there too.

Thanks everyone! Yes Steph, I might try that. You mean powder eyeliner, like the caked stuff? I imagine I could end up looking like I've just come out of a boxing ring if I'm not careful... lol

Nope. The eyeliner pencil.
Just colour your whole eyelid with it and smudge it good.
Then apply the eye-shadow over it.

(I've never heard of powder eyeliner, but it may work too though?)

Depending where you live
Flea Market & Big Lots has dark eye shadow(for cheap to)
Wal-Mart & Windixie has 'em too
I think...darn what was that's stores name..
Hottopic I think,
Supposedly there's make-up places & beauty shops at the mall you can get dark make-up from,
maybe at the dollar store in one of the malls.
Then there's what stephanie said. It's pretty good advice actually. I heard something like that that from a fashion show I think(I'm getting into cosmetology so I watch that stuff now), it's suppose to work.

Not to sound like a know it all,
though if you have a darker skin complection you might want to stear towards the lighter colored make-ups(...now I knwo for sure I've been watching way to much fashion TV XD)

I like bobbi brown. I have pale skin and very dark brown eyes. I look better wearing very dark brown shadow. most were too light or had too much red in them (I ended up looking sick lol) so I found bobbi brown. the dark brown is true brown and very dark. it is a little expensive but covers well and one container will last me for a year with daily use. many department stores carry it. I know macy's does.
also walgreens carries a line called jane (not all walgreens carry it, I don't know why)
and the colors, especially the black and brown are very dark. it is very reasonable in cost.
