I'm a parent, and I woulnd't take advice from a website about actions for my child?! I have no idea what other peoples motives are...why would I take my own judgement over my own when it comes to MY CHILD?!?!?
I'm open and respectful enough towards my children, I don't just ever say 'NO' to my children, I explain my reasoning behind my decision to enable them to understand why I say what I do, if they have a counter argument, then GREAT! seriously, that shows initiative, but I expect them to find the real direction, not others to give it to them.
but I know most parents arn't so accomodating
the question wasn't meant to be as broad as everything and each question asked. just about pets...I mean, we can't really make a parent, in effect, have another dependent person in the home at the request of another peson (who is equally dependent)
it wasn't meant to be a statement about questions, as a whole...
Kids, I guess, are hoping that they will be able to get an argument that a parent would accept I suppose... I'm not a parent so I'm not entirely sure what would convince me (however I am old enough to realize my parents were right when they said they'd end up taking care of the dog!) They want to know, what would convince you, as a parent to allow your kid a pet...

Whats with the parents/ pet q's?
why do people ask why they can't have a pet?
can we REALLY do anything to influence a parents decision?
