Whats the point?

I mean, we get up everyday, we do what we do every day, theres no exitement, no hope. Why do we have to be here? I think about this question all the time. It seems like happiness, pure JOY is so out of reach. This is how I associate things: The sun is just a ball of fire. Fire is in hell. hell is where im going. A smile is just a few extra muscles from a frown. When I smile, I dont mean it. Its so meaningless, I dont know what to do anymore! Please dont call it "just being pessimistic" because I think it goes deeper than that.

Maybe you could try doing something for someone else?? Bring the joy you're seeking to another person...I've always heard that you can't have, what you won't give away...Perhaps, simply by providing "joy" (giving) to another person, would bring some back to you.

I really think that you need some help. The world has tons to offer all you need to do is try and make the best of it.

If you help someone who needs it, it'd take your eyes off your problems and make you feel good. It is a proven fact that when helping people who need, it gives you the help you seek too.

Try smiling when you do mean it and notice how you feel when you do. And, when you are feeling kind of down try smiling again and notice how you feel. You may find that when you smile you'll start to feel a little better inside. Smile for longer than a second. Try this for 5 min. See if you notice some joy creep inside.

If you live in the negative, thats all you can see. If you live in the positive thats all you will see.

Yes, honey... it goes way deeper than that. What you describe is a soul that has not been born again. One that has not had the love of Jesus touch his soul. The light has not been turned on. If you will seek God, with all your heart, you will find him, and then... and only then... you will have real joy.

Undescrible... joy... coming from deep within your soul. From the spirit of the living God. You have to open your heart, to allow him entrance. He will not ever force himself on you. He offers... you can refuse... forever... if you choose, but, I promise you... if you do... you are cheating yourself out of the best thing that could ever... happen to you.

Father God, I pray for all those that have no hope... that they will turn to you, and receive what you so willingly offer. Turn their sorrow, into great joy. Amen.

To all those poor spirits out here who feel life has no meaning and purpose: I do not envy your feelings what so ever. obviously your are unhappy, but you really need to listen to the people up above in the previous answeres. Start doing some service for other people. life is not only about you...all the time...I think you are so focused on yourself that you are unable to let any positives in. try seeing the best in everyone and everything and your garenteed to find something to smile about. Most importantly, find things you are thankful for. if you are not thankful, you are selfish and you have got to get rid of that to have any happiness. you can not be thankful without smiling, even if its inside where no one can see it...which may just be the best way to smile anyway. I challenge you all to figue out your purpose. I couldn't live my everyday that way. YOu shouldn't either...

Yes it does go deeper than that, it's called depression...
Fake smiles, life is pointless, being in hell... been there...
And yes there doesnt seem to be much point to life when you're depressed (ok I'll be honest here, there doesnt seem to be much point to life when you're not depressed either, but you dont think about it too much...)

I have been where you are, and I do not ever want to go back. Life without Christ, is meaningless. One does not notice this until they reach a certain age, or stage in their life. I think that perhaps this is part of the way that God draws us to himself.

I did not reach out to him, until, I got completely to the end of myself, then, and only then, could I reach out to him, and say, "God is this all there is to life?"

that prayer changed my life... that was in June of 1985... I have never been the same. And it isn't what one would even call a prayer. But, God hears our hearts cry. And he brought me to that place, where I could reach out and up to him. I did not know what I needed. But, he did. I needed him.

There is a spot that is reserved in each one of us, that belongs to God alone... nothing... nor no one can fill it. It belongs to him. and until we allow him to take his rightful place in our lives... we will be empty.. and unfulfilled. We will not have joy.

We were created to worship and fellowship with our creator, and nothing else makes sense. Many try to find this in relationships, in money, in things, in drugs, in music, and in sex... but, it will all come up short... at some time in your life...

We are made in the image of God, and we can run to him, or from him.

It is much more profitable to run to him.

I hope and pray that you make this decision.

the point of life is to worship Jesus, the bible says that we are created to worship Him, and if we dont we feel empty and useless, because we are not fulfilling our true purpose. trust me, I have asked that Q many times, and then I started reading my bible, and I started going to church, and I got saved, I surrendured my life to jesus, and now there is NO SUCH THING AS A BORING DAY in my life, jesus is awesome and He will give you a wonderful life to live once to give it to Him
