Whats the average pay for a mechanic in florida and california

Asked by behonestforonce 8 months ago, 1 answer.

Im taking a class soon that will take me two years to finish. Its gonna certify me for electric work, transmission work, motor work, and a/c. I've already checked and the school is nationally accredited I just wanted to know whats the average start pay....

I've been told anywhere from 45 to 60 within the first 2 to 3 years and 65 to 100,000 with loyal customers, great reputation, or if I go into custom engine building such as racing or drifting, or something of that nature. PLEASE RESPOND WITH SENSE DONT ANSWER IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!!! And I checked with salary.com and it said 42 starting and 54 after 5 years but I wanted a third opinion

I know a guy who is certified in all of those things, and he wouldn't take a job (here in Florida) because it only paid $15 an hour. He finally took one that paid $18/hr. But small towns and large towns will differ.
